We do this out of the simple belief that clean and efficient energy resources are key to our future generations’ ability to achieve a safe and sustainable environment.

In order to educate teachers and students about renewable energy technologies, FSEC has developed several environment and energy curricula for use by teachers. The curricula units list and adhere to Florida’s Sunshine State Education Standards. Also, a number of science-related education events are held each year. These events encourage students to use their knowledge and creativity to solve energy problems. Learn more about FSEC’s K-12 educational offerings listed below.

EnergyWhiz is all about clean energy and creative kids. Each year in the Spring, hundreds of students converge at the FSEC Energy Research Center in Cocoa, Florida to participate in renewable energy events.

The National Science Bowl for Middle School is an activity of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Science, which encourages middle school students to excel in mathematics, science and engineering. Each year, the Office of Science selects sites for regional competitions throughout the United States. The U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Science provides questions and answers for all regional bowls.

The Space Coast Science Education Alliance (SCSEA) Middle School Science Bowl is one of 50 regional middle school science bowl competitions held throughout the U.S. The winning team from each regional event then competes in the National Science Bowl, which is held in Washington, D.C.
