Assumption of Risk and Release

Release executed by the Florida Solar Energy Center, University of Central Florida (FSEC/UCF). In consideration of being permitted to participate in the EnergyWhiz, I, the undersigned, do hereby agree to assume all the risks and responsibilities surrounding my participation in the EnergyWhiz or any activities undertaken as an adjunct thereto; and, further, I do for myself, my heirs, and personal representative(s) hereby defend, hold harmless, indemnify, and release, and forever discharge FSEC/UCF and all its officers, agents, and employees from and against any and all claims, demands, and actions, or causes of action, on account of damage to personal property, or personal injury which may result from my participation, and which result from causes beyond the control of, and without the fault or negligence of FSEC/UCF, its officers, agents or employees, during the period of my participation as aforesaid.

Publicity Release

As a condition of entry acceptance, the participant agrees to permit Florida Solar Energy Center®, and its assignees the use of his/her name, voice, and/or likeness for news, publicity, and future use including radio, television, and printed media, and in connection with advertising and purposes of trade. He/she further stipulates that no prior agreement with a sponsor or any other party is in conflict with this agreement.

By submitting his/her entry application and/or taking part in any activity relating to the Event, a competitor agrees to abide by the decisions of Event officials and supervisory officials, whether local, regional or national, relating to the event or any matters arising out of the Event, and agrees that such decisions are final, non-appealable and non-litigable.
