Brooks Rumenik serves as the Executive Director for the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ Office of Energy. The office is responsible for the development of energy policy and programs for the state as well as promoting the use of renewable energy and energy efficient technologies. Mrs. Rumenik’s responsibilities include supervision and oversight of policy development, program and grant design, and legislative tracking.

Prior to her work with the Office of Energy, Mrs. Rumenik served as Deputy Director with the Florida Department of Education’s Office of Safe Schools. In this role, Mrs. Rumenik oversaw efforts to support schools and school districts across Florida, verifying compliance with legislative requirements under the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act, implementing best practices to ensure safe and secure learning environments across Florida, and focusing on prevention, intervention, and emergency preparedness planning.

Mrs. Rumenik holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Florida State University and has 31 years experience in education at both the local and state levels.
