John Leeds was a Senior Management Analyst with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Office of Energy. He was with the Office of Energy from 2008-2019 and his duties included working on policy issues and program development and administration as it relates to renewable energy technologies and research and development.  He also served as the liaison for the Florida Energy Systems Consortium, which is an energy research consortium of Florida’s public universities. John also sats on the advisory board for the Southeast Solar Instructor Training Network and also served on the Board of Directors for Sustainable Tallahassee.

John has an undergraduate degree in Political Science with a minor in European Union Studies from the University of Florida (UF). While at UF, he worked as a research assistant on genetically modified Bahia grass and energy cane, and focused on sustainability.  In 2011, John received his Masters in Public Administration from Florida State University.  He is an American Energy Engineers certified Renewable Energy Professional and a Tallahassee Community College certified Solar Power Professional.
