Research Focus:

Dr. Tanvir Khan is a postdoctoral research associate in the Buildings Research Division at the Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC). At FSEC, he is involved in field and laboratory research at the intersection of building science and indoor air quality. His primary project is focused on characterizing indoor air quality in new and occupied homes in the southeastern U.S. and investigating the role of control measures such as whole house mechanical ventilation in indoor air quality.

Dr. Khan specializes in ambient and indoor air quality measurement, air quality modeling, and developing environmental multimedia models to study the atmosphere-surface exchangeable pollutants or ASEPs such as mercury (Hg) and polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) compounds. His other research interests include parameterizations of deposition of particles and gaseous species to terrestrial and aquatic surfaces for atmospheric transport models, model uncertainty and sensitivity analyses, transport and transformation of persistent organic pollutants, and interdisciplinary research.
